Today’s Order of Service

WHAT WE MEAN WHEN WE SAY “LIBERAL”
Worship Assistant: Bob Burns

Prelude: 100 Year (Billiam Bennett)

Welcome

Call to Worship: Our Liberal Faith

Leader: Because we value human reason over historical superstitions and myths,
ALL: We have a liberal theology.
Because we value ideals over dogma,
We hold to liberal principles.
Because we are all on our own spiritual path and not merely following anyone else’s path,
We share a liberal religion.
Because our search for truth and meaning requires intellectual inquiry and discussion,
We are a liberal community.
Because we value each person and the interconnected web of which we are but a part,
We share love liberally.
And because we come together today to seek truth,
We participate in a liberal worship experience together.
May our liberal religion lead us to be better neighbors, better citizens, and better people. Amen.

Lighting the Chalice Flame: Come, Come, Whoever You Are
Come, come, whoever you are.
Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving.
Ours is no caravan of despair.
Come, yet again come.

Affirmation: (In unison) Love is the spirit of this Congregation and service is its law. This is our great covenant to dwell together in peace, to seek the truth in love and to help one another.
