Worship Assistant: Tess Lambert

PreludeWe Gotta Pray (A. Keys)

Welcome

Call to Worship

Lighting the Chalice Flame: Come, Come, Whoever You Are
Come, come, whoever you are.
Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving.
Ours is no caravan of despair.
Come, yet again come.

Affirmation: Love is the spirit of this Congregation and service is its law. This is our great covenant to dwell together in peace, to seek the truth in love and to help one another.

Hymn
May the love we're sharing
Spread its wings and fly
Across the earth, and bring new joy
To every soul who is alive
May the blessings of your grace
My love shine on everyone
And may we all see the light
Within, within, within

Social Justice Minute:  MMC Food Pantry & Thrift Shop, Freddy Entin

Moment of Silence & Candle Lighting

Religious Education Class: Go now in peace, go now in peace; may the spirit of love surround you everywhere, everywhere you may go.

Sermon: What We Mean When We Say “Covenanting for Justice through Freedom from Religion,” Rev Dr Dan Lambert

Hymn: If I had A Hammer
If I had a hammer
I'd hammer in the morning
I'd hammer in the evening
All over this land
I'd hammer out danger
I'd hammer out a warning
I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land
If I had a bell
I'd ring it in the morning
I'd ring it in the evening
All over this land
I'd ring out danger
I'd ring out a warning
I'd ring out love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land
If I had a song
I'd sing it in the morning
I'd sing it in the evening
All over this land
I'd sing out danger
I'd sing out a warning
I'd sing out love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land
Well I've got a hammer
And I've got a bell
And I've got a song to sing
All over this land
It's the hammer of justice
It's the bell of freedom
It's the song about love between my brothers and my sisters
All over this land

Extinguishing the Chalice Flame: We extinguish this flame, but not the light of truth, the warmth of community, or the fire of commitment. These we carry in our hearts until we are together again.
